About this deal

It is our recommendation that a trial area is first coated to ensure the product is satisfactory to individual requirements. Simply choose from one of the 16 wonderful shades below and paint your furniture, finishing with a layer of Rust-Oleum Furniture Finishing Wax. The beautiful matt chalk finish created by the texture of the paint is perfect for the latest shabby chic trends and with clear or dark waxes available you can continue to tweak your design to the desired effect!

Leave this to dry for 10 minutes then buff the surface with a clean, dry cloth to remove any excess wax.

With a classic, smooth touch flat matt finish, it brings a new lease of life to tired, worn-out pieces. Two layers will usually be enough unless the piece gets a lot of wear and tear, in which case you should use three to four layers. In this video, using an inexpensive piece of unpainted furniture as an example, Georgie shows you how it’s done!

The paint can be used directly onto wood (bare or painted), brick, stone, plaster or any suitably primed rigid surface. Use a damp cloth over the surfaces that you are going to paint to pick up any dust and a towel to dry it off. The matt, chalky finish is perfect for upcycling vintage gems and can be applied directly onto most surfaces. Give the paint a really good stir before application and then apply the paint in light coats with a brush or a roller depending on the item you’re painting. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. To combat this use a fine grade sandpaper or sanding block to create a key (rough surface) as this will improve adhesion. Painting furniture is a great way to revive and upcycle your favourite pieces to create something truly unique. Simply brush onto the bare surface or over the old paint or varnish, then sand or scour with dry to achieve the distressed look.

With a wide range of colours to choose from, you can go bold with two contrasting colours or create a subtle effect with toning hues. Simply apply 1 coat with a brush and leave for 1 hour to dry - a great way to give the surfaces additional protection. Can be used directly onto wood (bare or painted), brick, stone, plaster or any suitably primed rigid surface (metal, plastic etc ). Tip: If you find the paint too thick, you can add water to gain the desired consistency – a thicker paint will give a more textured finish, whilst the thinner the paint, the smoother the end result.
