About this deal

We carry a broad range of CDs and vinyl (7”/12” singles and LPs) and specialise in indie, alternative, rock, punk, metal plus a few other genres.

Austerity Dogs’ is a dark, rough and ferocious album with a very comical side, looking at the state of Britain from the working class perspective at almost disbelief. If you love what we do, you can help tQ to continue bringing you the best in cultural criticism and new music by joining one of our subscription tiers. Allo Darlin's eponymous debut album runs the spectrum from joyous, breezy, punky, jump-around pop with fabulous harmonies to sparse ukulele and steel guitar heartbreakers. Born out of part frustration and part accident, it quickly found its feet as an aggressive verbal onslaught on all that is contrived and connected to the day-to-day hammer of low paid employment and domestic situations arising from that trap. Similarly, if you need to hear singing, or guitars, or pretty much anything that resembles 'normal' music then forget it.I feel like this has retrospectively been acclaimed as some kind of 'state of the nation' address by critics ever since divide and exit came out when really it's the same miserable ranting they'd been doing for years, but this time happened to come out in the middle of a recession. It should be on the school curriculum, and then maybe all those young kids that watch all that pish on TV (X-Factor) etc might then realise that there is real music out there and not just ear rotting, soul destroying drivel that they are force fed, beg steal of borrow this album and get listening! It's only one of more than 50 great albums released this year, but it's arguably the most genuinely "punk", "urban" and "street" UK recording out of the whole bunch.

Top tracks as always with Sleaford Mods but on this reissue just released, there is no track listing on the CD or (unlike other SL releases) and no booklet either 🤯 Can anyone who as the original CD tell me if this is a production fault with the reissue or did the original CD from 2013 also have no track listing or booklet? In an age where everything seems to have been done before, where so many bands seem happy to tread over old ground, and where as a listener it sometimes feels a bit like you're grateful to just find a band that at least treads over that old ground with new shoes, 'Austerity Dogs' is a kick aimed squarely and with extreme firmness up your musical arse.

A continual seller ever since release in April 2006, demand for Burial's roundly praised debut has rocketed following a swathe of superlative appraisals and high rankings in the various year-end review sections. Vinyl is very thin and flimsy and came out the shrinkwrap with a slight warp and "scrunch" on the runout of side 1. Luottoesimerkki: 1 300 € luottorajalla ja 12 kk:n takaisinmaksuajalla kk-erä on 124,06 € ja kuluttajasuojalain mukainen todellinen vuosikorko 29,08 %. But where Seaton had that individualistic nihilism that so inspired Arctic Monkeys, Sleaford Mods know that you rise as a class or you don't rise at all: "movin' up in the world doesn't mean using the lift, mate/What floor do you want?It is a high octane and unrelenting blitzkrieg, railing against all things banal and vacuous in today’s world. It's more confrontational than most UK hip-hop I have ever heard, and hell-cleverer than the singer's guttural regional snarl may suggest to some.
