About this deal

The Flash and Wonder Woman join other titles from DC including Action Comics, Detective Comics, Superman, and Batman in having reached their 800th issues. Mark Waid, a New York Times best-selling author, has written a wider variety of well-known comics characters than any other American comics author, from Superman to the Justice League to Spider-Man to Archie and hundreds of others. By using the Web site, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by the Terms and Conditions. This is a legendary run of comics, so I’m hoping things improve as Mark Waid’s writing skills improve.

This run, starring Wally, took him from a guy who was cocky yet also unsure of himself and catapulted him to one of the strongest heroes in the DCU. But he realized early on that he and Wally have something in common: they both grew up as fans only to become professionals in the one field they love more than anything. But it's his final destination on this time trip that makes this one so special, he gets to talk to his younger self. A fantastic volume this one and I loved it, some remarkable stories that really makes you love Wally!

Waid launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise money to fight the suit, and denied having anything to do with Antarctic Press' decision, a statement verified in deposition by the publisher of Antarctic Press. I was looking forward to seeing how Waid would further develop her in this story arc only to be met with the absence of anything substantial. Salvador Larroca, in particular, has issues with character anatomy, showing signs of the Image Comic broken spine syndrome with some female characters. Beginning with volume 2, Waid wraps up Wally in the Flash legacy with each volume you can see Wally mature as a hero now only in his abilities but also his confidence in himself and Barry's legacy.

So when a little town in California hears about this, they recruit him to come be the hero of their city. Once Waid got immersed in the Kid Flash origins, his deep thoughts and rampant narration took over, hard.

They have an interesting hook, twin brothers one of whom is a psychotic cultist attempting to usher in the age of chaos. Coming from the 30th century where he lived his life in VR, he has no real concept of reality which makes for an interesting dynamic between Bart and Wally. A trip to the 64th century also proves eye-opening for Wally, as he is shocked to find out that in the future he is worshipped as a god! Should I just wait till September for Waids run to come out, or is a better alternative to read Johns Vol. The first story has a far future Flash traveling back in time to gather past Flashes (Jay Garrick the Golden Age Flash, Barry Allen, the Silver Age Flash, and Wally West) to help against a world-ending disaster in the far future.

By the end of this arc along with Jay, Max and Johnny Quick, Wally is able to defeat Zoom and fully come into his own as the one, true Flash. In December 2021, it was announced that Waid would be writing a new ongoing for DC entitled Batman/Superman: World's Finest, with Dan Mora serving as artist and beginning publication in March 2022. He wrote a Metamorpho limited series in 1993 [10] and created the character known as Impulse in The Flash (vol. Ultimately, it would be Waid's take on the Flash legacy and the Flash mythology that would make his run so great, but there was also a silver-age optimism matched with solid modern writing, and that's already on display here.

My reading of The New Teen Titans has shown me that to compare that interpretation with Wally as the Flash leaves us with two incredibly different characters. I had read the introduction of Jesse Quick in the pages of Justice Society of America where she was definitely a supporting character, but still enjoyable. I particularly like the info dumps at the end, explaining the Flashes' powers, weaknesses, and foes.
